Development Manager - Software Solutions



Main Function:

  • Manages offshore development projects.
  • Manages product quality.
  • Primary point of contact between 3C and the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages offshore development projects.
  • Identifies deliverables, milestones, and schedules for all phases of development.
  • Interacts with software agents offshore and maintains records of all interactions.
  • Maintains and manages issue/action item lists to ensure on time delivery.
  • Schedules review and testing of components with customer.
  • Ensures that customer standards are followed according to contract specifications.
  • Obtains customer sign-off on deliverables.

  • Manages product quality.
  • Reviews all applications and components before presenting to the customer.
  • Initiates and owns all corrective action to remedy quality problems with products in the testing/final product phase.
  • Reviews all documentation specified as part of project that is to be handed over to the customer.
  • Performs project review with development team to improve processes and cycle times.

  • Primary point of contact between 3C and the customer.
  • Communicates and obtains approval of changes in scope necessary due to technical issues.
  • Provides weekly status reports to customers regarding progress on projects.
  • Ensures customer adheres to project scope and develops exception reports for 3C management to review in the event of out of scope work being requested by the customer.
  • Submits cost estimates for out of scope work to customer and obtains approval before proceeding with work.
  • Identifies opportunities for additional work with customers.

  • Provides primary support for all server operations and help desk fuctions on an as needed basis.
  • Resolves network problems and maintains all server operating systems to assure operating efficiency.
  • Participates as a member of the user help desk, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years experience with C++, Visual C, Web Development (Java, MPEG - 2 or - 4, Cold Fusion, Dream Weaver, Front Page, Perl, Active X) in a large development environment.
  • 2+ years in a management role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
