Senior Client Server Analyst - Network Services
Main Function:
- Maintains the local and wide area networks.
- Recommends the need for new applications and software upgrades.
- Plans and implements annual projects.
- Provides primary suuport for all server operations and help desk functions on an as needed basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the local and wide area networks.
- Monitors the network in order to diagnose problems and gather performance indicators for fine tuning.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
- Configures communications on the network and general connectivity to the IBM AS/400.
- Maintains network security to guard against unauthorized access to programs and data.
- Develops and administers a storage managment program and provides for routine backups.
- Develops and maintains a disaster recoery plan related to business requiremens of the company.
- Recommends new applications and software upgrades.
- Recommends future product direction, installs new applications, and disbributes software upgrades.
- Monitors, controls, and enforces licensing agreements.
- Researches and tests new products for implementation.
- Researches projects related vendors and pricing necessar for annual budgetary projections.
- Plans and implements annual projects.
- Communicates any functional changes related to the network environment to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinates and implements annual workstation updates/replacements.
- Researches, plans, and implements annual projects based on direction established in the Information Systems Strategic Plan.
- Provides primary support for all server operations and help desk fuctions on an as needed basis.
- Resolves network problems and maintains all server operating systems to assure operating efficiency.
- Participates as a member of the user help desk, as needed.
- Develops/maintains Information Systems publications and maintenance records and schedules.
- Maintains accurate documentation of all network configurations.
- Establishes and maintains scheduled bios updates for all hardware.
- Installs and tests all service packs in a test environment prior to rollout.
- Manages the anti-virus applications and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years network administration experience, network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Frame Relay, VoIP) and Cisco hardware.
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows 2000, Active Directory, Exchange 2000, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL Server and related applications, and IBM connectivity solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
